**UPDATE**
Due to the massive life upheaval that usually occurs from moving, the redesign is still coming but not soon enough. We’re working hard but setting up new lives in a new city has to take priority!
Things have been picking up here at Photo Mojo headquarters and I am very grateful for it. I have had the privilege of working with a lot of new clients and each one of them have pesonally enhanced and enriched my life. Thank you!
Speaking of enhancements, there will be a complete redesign very shortly! This upgrade will enhance the viewer’s experience thanks to password protected galleries for personal viewing/proofing, schedule for bookings, shopping cart to order images, news, full screen viewing, video, and more!
There is also a link to the blog. Photomojo.info will cease to become a photoblog and automagically be the front end web presence for the business aspect Photo Mojo. I have imported all of the previous posts to another Wordpress blog and will maintain that as my photoblog of personal exploration and display. So please, redirect your favorites/bookmarks/RSS feeds to this new address: http://photomojo.wordpress.com/ the RSS feed is http://photomojo.wordpress.com/feed/
Keep watching here for the changes!!

A lazy Sunday afternoon became anything but lazy at the Trussville park during a shoot session with a co-worker and her two beautiful sons. They were a bit bashful & respectful at first, but boy did they get out of that phase quickly!
I can’t describe how fun & challenging it was to keep up with two twin boys as they race throughout the playground, up & over the slides and while swinging on the swings.
Thanks, boys!

I had a blast trying to keep up with all three of these fun/fantastic sisters during a portrait session last Sunday. Their father wanted to preserve some memories for Mother’s day and I think they were pleased. Next time, however, I am bringing the Red Bull energy drink!
Thanks ladies!
What another busy, fun, productive weekend! I hope yours was equally fun. My mother & her husband went to the Oklahoma panhandle to shoot at prairie dogs and jackrabbits. The cattle farmers appreciate this because the critters burrow holes that the cow’s hooves fall into. I’d share photos of some of the kill but that’d be gross.
Just found out my father is on vacation this week to the Colorado Rockies. I’m jealous.
OK, back to me. I got to shoot the beautiful people attending Art on the Rocks vent at the Birmingham Museum of Art on Friday. Good times, music, drinks and culture. Happy times.
The girls and I did a photo shoot with Daphne on Saturday and then raced downtown for the annual Do Dah Day parade with dogs dressed in costume.
Sunday was another portrait session with a fun family. They have a gorgeous 17 y/o and two 9 y/o twins that were rambunctious.
My girls and I enjoyed a lazy Sunday after the shoot and then gorged ourselves on margaritas & fajitas. We’re detoxing this week, I promise. I’m going to roll into work an exhausted, bloated but content guy.
What’d you do?
There is a fairly new photo service that allows you to make money off of your pictures, share them and even offer copyright protection. Cincinnati-based Photrade is a growing photo community that deserves your attention as a photographer that wants to make extra cash to pay off that new lens you just purchased.
You can upload your photos manually or even import from Flickr currently. Once loaded, visitors can view, or even embed (with your watermark) into a blog post or a social web site. For commercial use, this is a fantastic way to purchase photos at a discounted rate than the big stock photography houses.
I visited with CEO Andrew Paradies (pronounced like paradise) recently and was immediately impressed with the application and services offered. Andy suggest that Photrade is a mashup of Flickr and iTunes in that photos are searchable and downloadable for a small fee.
As an extra bonus, Photrade is reaching out to their community by providing timely, insightful and practical articles about photography that you can use. It strips away the general snobbery of our craft and is fun to read. Check out Hyperphocal here.
Photrade is currently in beta invitation only status but if you ask nicely on the signup page…
November 14, 2001 was the day I became hooked on photography for good. My father purchased an Olympus Ultra Zoom digital camera and I borrowed it for awhile. The first shot below was one of the bastard squirrels that taunted me daily by throwing acorns as I got home from classes. Taken from my porch, he was across the street. Wow.
This prompted Wonderwife & I to purchase a 2megapixel Fuji camera that was almost $300. Hooked.
The 25th anniversary of the Magic City Art Connection has come and gone and I am beat. Wonderwife & I are working on post-processing 3,000 photos (about 12GB) from all three days of the event. Posting here will be light; as you can imagine.
To the artists, musicians, dancers, chefs, Yahoo Search team and festival-goers: all of the images will be posted/hosted online soon. I will update this post here by way of notification and reply back to those who have sent me an email request. At that time, some will be on display here, and others will be on Flickr and SmugMug accounts. For those of you who had expressed a desire to purchase images (bless you), I will re-direct you to Smugmug for online purchases.
At this time, the Mojo is putting out a request for models. I want/need to boost up my portrait experience. There were plenty of beautiful people on display this weekend and I would like to capture more of you. Leave a comment here by clicking “Comments” , send me an email: mojodenbow [AT] gmail.com or call & leave a message to 205.588.6899.
**UPDATE** It is my pleasure to let you know that the Magic City Art Connection images are posted online. http://photo-mojo.smugmug.com Email me for the password if interested and I’ll get you access to both Saturday & Sunday events.

Wonderwife surprised me by purchasing my new Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. This is a very high quality lens that operates perfectly with my Nikon D200. If event or landscape photography are your passions, then this is the lens to get! The focus is completely sharp anywhere between 10-20mm and the best thing about it is the price, especially at Amazon where we saved $200 and no taxes/shipping.
It was too dark to try it outside but rest assured, I am taking it with me tomorrow and breaking this sucker in.
Thanks Jenny!

Once again it is time to head to downtown Birmingham to enjoy fine art, let the kids romp/explore, enjoy delectable food/wine and enjoy musical acts from almost every genre at the Art Connection.
Once again, I am shooting the event and will be there Friday afternoon, and most of Saturday/Sunday.
